As dairies grow to meet consumer demands, it’s important for producers to look toward building a sustainable, profitable and enjoyable future. The Dairy XL team at Lely North America is dedicated to providing guidance so those producers can produce the best quality and quantity of milk in an efficient and effective manner.

Don’t just take our word for it, though. Join us on one of the several Dairy XL tours we offer throughout the year and discover how some of North America’s largest automated Lely farms enjoy the success of automated milking.

“This is your chance to see, learn and interact with producers who are just like you,” said Preston Vincent, Lely Dairy XL Development Manager. “These dairies are excited to host you and your family and to open their doors to you. These tours are about teaching you all that the host dairies have learned about adopting Lely robotics on their dairies.”

Each of these tours offers several benefits to producers who are looking to automate and grow their own operations, such as:

  • A variety of barn designs and management styles that are revolutionizing the Dairy XL market.
  • The opportunity to have your questions heard and answered by a producer who has already been through the process.
  • An interactive dinner presentation.

One of the common misconceptions we hear from producers who are considering automating their large herd dairies is that they will have to build a new barn to house the robots. While that may be true in a few cases, the majority of existing structures can be retrofitted to comfortably house the robots. Each tour will give you the chance to see a retrofit design, a new build and the new Lely Astronaut A5 robotic milking system in action.

There are two remaining Dairy XL tour dates in 2019. October 23-24 will be beginning in Declo, Idaho at Heglar Creek Dairy, followed by a visit to Dan Ward and Troy Hobbs. Heglar Creek Dairy was recently featured in the Idaho State Journal for their ability to give their cows constant care and attention with half the usual labor force because of their robots.

The last tour will take place November 20-21 in Quebec with the host farm to be announced soon.

If increasing efficiencies, achieving more output per cow, and managing labor and risk are important to you, the Dairy XL team is ready to help. The certified team of Lely professionals will partner with you to design a custom, optimal layout for long-term efficiency that will benefit you for years to come. Are you ready to begin your journey to sustainability through automation?
